Thoughts for May 25 from Fr Willie Doyle

Jesus is looking at me as once he did upon blind Bartimaemus: “What wilt thou that I do to thee?” Lord, that I may see myself as You see me. Lord that my eyes may be open to the shortness of life. Lord, that I may understand the value of one degree of merit, and so heap up many.

The passage above gives us some reminders: one, that most of us are blind in a spiritual way in that we don’t always see the Hand of God working every second of our life. We are like small children who are not yet fully aware of all that our mom and dad do for us. Second, that we must be awake, alert to appreciate the time that the good Lord gives us to give Him glory, to live lives of charity, to show mercy, kindness, self sacrifice in order to help build the Kingdom of God among us.
Please Father Doyle, help us to see God in every situation, in the face of every person.
