One of the most important ways in which we can spread devotion to Fr Willie, and to raise the funds that are needed for his Cause, is through holding public talks. These talks have been very well received and many have left them enthused and enriched by Fr Willie’s example.

Will you help Fr Willie’s Cause by organising a talk in your area, or inviting us to speak at a conference, novena or event that you are already planning? While it is easier for us to attend events and talks in Ireland, we are also open to the possibility of events and talks in other countries.

You need to find a venue – a parish hall or similar is ideal – and then help promote it locally. We will promote the event online and we will send you leaflets that you can leave in local churches. We would ask that you also have the event promoted in local parish newsletters and to local prayer groups, Whatsapp groups etc. There is very little work involved in organising the event, and we will provide whatever support we can remotely. However, we do need your help on the ground in order to hold a local event – we cannot do it remotely without some local assistance.

We will also bring some of Fr Willie’s relics to local talks, including his crucifix and other items that he owned.

Fr Willie went out to the peripheries to bring God’s mercy to souls. He could be found late at night trying to evangelise sailors as they returned to port; he could be found in the early morning on the streets speaking to workers on the way to factories; and of course he gave everything he had to go to the front lines of war to bring God’s mercy to men facing likely death.
