We do not mind what God does with us so long as it more or less fits in with our own wishes; but when His will clashes with ours, we begin to see the difficulty of the prayer, “Not my will but Thine be done”. All the same I think we can never expect to really please God till we become like wax in His hands, so that He will never have to hesitate before sending a cross or trial no matter how hard.

on Thoughts for March 26 from Fr Willie Doyle.
Above we read the challenge of being a true follower of the Lord…it’s not always easy, and at times we might even want to abandon all our good intentions. Jesus didn’t…Our Lady didn’t, good St. Joseph didn’t. They understood suffering and the demand of God’ s will, but their love was greater than the challenges.
Please, Father Doyle, help us to not give up, to not surrender to self, but to run to God and hold fast to Him. All will be made better in His Presence, and in His time.
Please pray for Danny in the U.S. who is battling cancer.
