A new book: “The Rock From Which You Were Hewn: The lives and legacies of holy Irish men and women” has just been published in Ireland by Cenacle Press https://cenaclepress.com/products/the-rock-from-which-you-were-hewn-1 and internationally by Ignatius Press https://ignatius.com/the-rock-from-which-you-were-hewn-rwhp/

The book is co-edited by Patrick Kenny, President of the Father Willie Doyle Association, and Fr John Hogan, the diocesan postulator for Fr Willie’s Cause, and includes a Foreword by Archbishop Eamon Martin. In 44 chapters it features biographies of every Irish person whose cause for canonisation is open (25 Causes) as well as 19 other individuals who, while they don’t have an active canonisation cause (yet!) lived lives of holiness and died with a reputation for sanctity. The individual chapters were written by experts in those peoples lives – their postulators, authors of full length biographies and, in some cases, personal friends of the subject. 

The book will be launched by Archbishop Eamon Martin on Thursday 21st November at 6.30pm in Ely House, 8 Ely Place, Dublin 2. All welcome.
