Fr Doyle announced as a patron for a new Confraternity for priests

Real devotion to the Blessed Sacrament is only to be gained by hard, grinding work of dry adoration before the Hidden God. But such a treasure cannot be purchased at too great a cost, for once obtained, it makes of this life as near an approach to heaven as we can ever hope for.

COMMENT: It is with great satisfaction that we note that Fr Doyle has been announced as one of the patrons of the newly established Confraternity of Priest Adorers of the Eucharistic Face of Jesus. This Confraternity, which is primarily aimed at priests (although lay people may also be enrolled as associate members) has recently been established at Silverstream Priory in County Meath. You may read more about it here: http://cenacleosb.org/confraternity/

The Confraternity is primarily aimed at the sanctification of its members and of the priesthood itself. This was a cause very dear to Fr Doyle’s heart; indeed he offered his sufferings in the war, and even his very life itself, for the sanctification of priests and in reparation for the sins of priests. Anybody familiar with recent Irish history will know how important this intention is.

This development is, once again, evidence of the devotion to Fr Doyle that already exists, and it is hoped that many more people, especially priests, will become more aware of Fr Doyle through this Confraternity.

How wonderful that the Blessed Sacrament will continue to be adored through this new Confraternity. We are very blessed in our parish (FFSP apostolate) to have Silent Adoration every Wednesday from 8am to 6:45 pm. And we were so fortunate again this year to have the 40 Hours Devotion prior to our parish pre-Lenten supper. These practices have fallen very far in Canada – most parishes have no adoration ever! Poor Jesus! Alone in tabernacle day after day. No wonder the world is in such a sorry state.

I am absolutely delighted to hear this news of a Confraternity for Priests in Ireland which is centred on Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. I have been praying for some time for a Confraternity to be set up here in Ireland for Priests as there are confraternities for Priests in the USA, UK and Australia who are faithful to the Church. It is wonderful to hear about it. God bless you.

I actually left this itaromfnion on the blog of another memberof the CCC, Father Simon Henry. It comes from the Holy See’s press Office today 16th October 2012 .. However it has been removed I presume by Father Hennry and I really cannot think why. As I would guess you share many readers perhaps I might be able to publish the Holy See’s views on Orders of Chivalry here for people to read?In response to frequent requests for itaromfnion concerning the recognition by the Holy See of Equestrian Orders dedicated to the saints or to holy places, the Secretariat of State considers it opportune to reiterate what has already been published, namely that, other than its own Equestrian Orders (i.e.: the Supreme Order of Christ, the Order of the Golden Spur, the Pian Order, the Order of Saint Gregory the Great, and the Order of Pope Saint Sylvester), the Holy See recognizes and supports only the Sovereign Military Order of Malta – also known as the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta – and the Equestrian Order of the Holy See Sepulchre of Jerusalem. The Holy See foresees no additions or innovations in this regard. All other orders, whether of recent origin or medieval institution, are not recognized by the Holy See. Furthermore, the Holy See does not guarantee their historical or juridical legitimacy, their ends or organizational structures. To avoid any possible doubts, even owing to illicit issuing of documents or the inappropriate use of sacred places, and to prevent the continuation of abuses which may result in harm to people of good faith, the Holy See confirms that it attributes absolutely no value whatsoever to certificates of membership or insignia issued by these groups, and it considers inappropriate the use of churches or chapels for their so-called “ceremonies of investiture”.[01330-02.01] [Original text: Italian]

QuotesChimp is safe to say that a great many people in this country are very unhappy about insurance. Some are angry with their individual companies, some with the insurance industry in general, and a great many more with both. True, part of this dissatisfaction is caused by insurance company practices and procedures and by weaknesses in the area of regulation (see Post 39). But too many consumers have only themselves to blame because of the poor manner in which they have gone about the task of shopping for insurance coverage.
