Constant urging of Jesus to do “hard things” for him, things which cost. I shrink from sacrifice, but I know well He wants it, and I can never be happy or at peace otherwise.

Father Doyle, you consistently gave more and more of yourself in order to imitate the Lord. Sacrifices come in such different degrees; please pray that we, like you, will be strengthened in heart and will to imitate the Lord as our way of life, and circumstances allow. When sacrifices come, help us to accept them with a willing heart, trusting in the grace God provides.
